Social Touch Camp
Come learn how to play Social touch with PTR this summer.
Are you looking for a fun, fast-paced new sport and a cool group of people to hang out with? Come join our touch clinic on Sunday, June 22nd and Edgley Field in Fairmount Park. We will go over the basics of rucking, scoring and defence.
Our clinic is open to all ages, genders and experience levels. No rugby experience is necessary. This is a great opportunity for an introduction to one of the most popular social sports in the world. Whether you’re looking to seriously compete or just meet some new people, play Touch and have a beer after- we’ve got a place for you at Philly Touch.
Why play Touch?
Fitness and Skills - It’s a fast paced and exciting sport that is a combination of speed, skill and intelligence - that means whatever your strength, you will find a role on the Touch field. Touch will also allow you to stay active, keep your skills sharp with a much lower risk for injury than a contact sport.
Social - Touch is in essence a social sport. We are a diverse, mixed team of all ages, genders and nationalities and you’ll find the same at most Touch clubs across the world. Almost every major city in the US has a growing Touch presence and it’s a fantastic way to keep in touch with a sport you love if you no longer want to play contact rugby. Even if you do, there are plenty of opportunities to do both.
Competitive - There is a rapidly growing competitive Touch scene in the country. In addition to 20+ tournaments each year, there are US Touch Rugby Nationals with the best teams in the country and multiple divisions. There is the newly introduced Quad Series where you can represent 1 of 4 regions in the US and compete against the best players in the country. Every 4 years there is a World Cup with multiple divisions by age, which means you can play at the highest level well into your golden years. With the upcoming Olympics in Australia, most people expect Touch to be an Olympic sport for that event- meaning you could even represent your country at one of the biggest sporting stages in the world.
